Established in 1960, Queensland Stoma Association Ltd (QSA)  is a not for profit self-help organisation providing support, assistance and information to people living with a “stoma”, also called an ileostomy, colostomy or urostomy. People who have had this type of surgery are known as “ostomates”. One of our main activities is to assist our ostomate members to access the essential ostomy products they need to manage their condition, through the Commonwealth government’s Stoma Appliance Scheme (SAS).

QSA is governed by a Board of Directors elected from and by members, and relies on a small team of employees supported by a large group of valuable volunteers to carry out its work. Most of our team either live with a stoma themselves or have a close family member who lives with a stoma. We are therefore fundamentally aware of how essential the products provided through the SAS are to our members, and how important it is to be supported in a caring and sensitive but also professional way.

To find out how to become a member of QSA, see our Becoming a member page. For information about placing an order for SAS products, please see our “Placing an order” page. For our contact information or to view our business hours, please visit our “Contact Us” page.

We encourage all members to visit our site to find out more information about assistance available through the Stoma Appliance Scheme and living well with a stoma.

Queensland Stoma Association Ltd is a member of the Australian Council of Stoma Associations Inc.
