Established in 1960, Queensland Stoma Association Ltd (QSA) is a not-for-profit, self-help organisation that provides support, assistance, and information to people living with a stoma—also known as an ileostomy, colostomy, or urostomy. Individuals who have undergone this type of surgery are referred to as “ostomates”. One of our core services is helping ostomate members access essential ostomy products through the Commonwealth Government’s Stoma Appliance Scheme (SAS).
QSA is governed by a Board of Directors elected by our members. We operate with a small team of dedicated employees and a large group of invaluable volunteers who help carry out our work. Many of our team members either live with a stoma or have close family members who do, giving us a deep understanding of the importance of the SAS and the need for compassionate, professional support.
To learn how to become a QSA member, visit our Becoming a Member page. For details on ordering SAS products, see our Placing an Order page. To find our contact details and business hours, please visit the Contact Us page.
We encourage all members to explore our website to learn more about the support available through the Stoma Appliance Scheme and how to live well with a stoma. Queensland Stoma Association Ltd is proud to be a member of the Australian Council of Stoma Associations Inc.
